Dutton, Kinworthy Appointed to NCCCO Panel; Virtual Written Exam Available

Charged with developing examinations, reviewing test procedures, shepherding ongoing program improvements, providing expertise in all facets of the process and maintaining OSHA compliance, among others, the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) Pile Driver Exam Management Committee works to ensure that all participants receive a fair, valid and reliable assessment of their knowledge and skill. Two tenured practitioners who bring significant operational experience to the table have recently joined the Committee; PDCA members Tim Dutton, VP at Junttan USA Inc. (pictured, right) and Joe Kinworthy, Manager at Equipment Corporation of America (pictured, left) begin their service in October when the Committee next convenes.

NCCCO is a valued partner of PDCA which seeks to establish Exam Management Committees (EMC's) with broad industry background and perspective. According to a spokesperson, "The addition of Mr. Dutton and Mr. Kinworthy to the Committee expands that background and knowledge and helps ensure that the diverse interests of the entire industry are considered when making decisions about the Dedicated Pile Driving Rig Operator certification program."

Recognizing the importance of well-rounded representation on the panel, NCCCO has assembled this Committee to include those who use, insure, manufacture, consult and own pile driving equipment. Among other members is PDCA Executive Director Frank Peters.

Moving forward, NCCCO and the Committee are working closely with stakeholders in the pile driving industry to grow the important program and expand the network of practical examiners with the objective to "ensure that certification is available to all safety minded companies and organizations."
