The tentative schedule will begin with a presentation discussing the benefits of a well designed pile load test program, its cost-effectiveness and applications. The seminar will also feature presentations on various pile load testing methods. Each presentation will feature detailed information about that specific load testing method and how it best applies to the driven pile industry. Presentations will be followed by a Q & A, allowing the seminar participants to address all of the presenters in a panel setting. The methods and presenters will be announced as representatives are confirmed. Who Should Attend: Contractors, Engineering Design Consultants, Geotechnical and Structural Engineers, Suppliers of hammers and piles; as well as anyone responsible or involved in pile load test decisions. Headquarters - Cleveland, OH Full Seminar & Workshop Brochure Register Online Hotel Reservations Driven Pile: A Foundation for the 21st Century September 9, 2014 Austin, TX The Pile Driving Contractors Association and Deep Foundations Institute will host the 5th Driven Pile A Foundation for the 21st Century seminar; a jointly conducted program on September 9, 2014, in Austin, Texas. This annual conference will feature 11 presentations from industry leaders on a variety of subjects, including Subsurface Characterization/Ethics, Durability of Steel Piling Materials, Pile Driving Methodology for Offshore Wind Farms, Lake Brazos Dam A Case History, Panama Canal Cofferdams and several more relevant and interesting pile driving topics that are sure to be interesting and educational. Professional Development Hours (PDH) will be offered to those requiring the credits. DFI is the managing association for this year's seminar and will have additional information regarding the selected site, final seminar agenda, and registration information shortly. Design and Installation of Cost- Efficient Piles Conference (DICEP) October 9, 2014 Salt Lake City, UT What Will You Learn and Experience: The DICEP conference will present a series of presentations designed to educate professionals who work in the foundations industry. Preliminary presentation topics include subjects pertaining to subsurface investigation and report recommendations, site characterization, determination of vertical resistance of sheet pile abutments, load development and establishment of driving criteria, taper pile advantages, international and domestic case histories using driven piles and project converted to driven piles due to economic, geotechnical and scheduling advantages. Who Should Attend: The PDCA 15th Annual Design and Installation of Cost-Efficient Piles (DICEP) conference is designed for geotechnical, structural and civil engineers; contractors and other firms or individuals who support, conduct business or are associated with the deep foundations, earth retention and/or the driven pile industry. PDCA Committees PDCA Committees are a significant resource to the association, its members, and the driven pile industry. Each Committee has a Chair who is appointed by the PDCA President and each Committee has a Board Director who acts as a liaison between the Committee and the Board of Directors. Each committee meets between 4 to 6 times a year. One of those meetings is held at the PDCA's Annual Conference, while the remainder are generally conducted by conference call. All PDCA members are eligible to serve on any PDCA committee(s). PDCA Intern and Coop Program
PDCA Member Participation Form The Pile Driving Contractors Association is establishing a 2014 Coop Student and Intern Program to help facilitate the placement of students with PDCA member companies. This program is a PDCA member service/benefit available only to PDCA members. PDCA members will have access to willing and hardworking student who wish to learn more about and work in the pile driving industry.
