Biloxi Draws Dozens of Attendees for Gulf Coast Chapter August Meeting

As they do on an annual basis, members of the PDCA Gulf Coast Chapter trekked to the resort-style destination, The Golden Nugget Biloxi Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, MS, for a Chapter dinner and business meeting, that may also involve some unofficial, extracurricular activity for some. With nearly 50 in attendance, the contractors, associates, engineers, and friends assembled for the August 29th event enjoyed a networking reception followed by a dinner, business meeting, and two presentations.

Among the speakers for the evening were: Frank Peters, PDCA Executive Director, who discussed a busy fall season ahead for the organization. He detailed several upcoming conferences and other engagement opportunities that are available to the pile driving industry in coming months. He also stressed the importance of member engagement in the new member account management system called The PDCA Connection.

Later, a technical presentation from
David Tomley with Gulf Coast Prestress Partners educated attendees about some of the developments available in the concrete piling marketplace.

The PDCA Gulf Coast Chapter thanks to sponsors of the third quarter meeting in Biloxi, Gulf Coast Prestress Partners and JD Fields. A final meeting for 2024 is scheduled in November when the Chapter will elect a leadership team for the new year.

Twin Cities Social Marks 1st PDCA Networking Event in Minneapolis

With the objective to continue growing the organization through new member development, as well as inspire yet another U.S. region with a significant pile driving industry to consider forming a PDCA Chapter, the Pile Driving Contractors Association hosted the latest in an ongoing series of regional networking receptions in Minneapolis, MN, the Twin Cities Social. The event took place Thursday evening, August 22nd, at Fulton Taproom in the city's downtown sports district. Pile driving professionals from near and far attended the reception that featured networking and a short program that introduced attendees to PDCA.

During the program, PDCA Executive Director Frank Peters gave a warm welcome to event sponsors and acknowledged their generous support to the Association and its outreach into the Minnesota pile driving market. He then passed the microphone around the room to allow each attendee to introduce him or herself to the group. He went on discuss PDCA and its critical function in the driven pile industry. Among the highlights he stressed were the productivity of a wide-range of PDCA standing committees, the opportunities available through PDCA's active schedule of live and virtual educational programming, and the importance of the organization's first-ever (and the first publicly-known) vibrations study which is in progress expected to generate expert analysis and data in coming months. Also attending was PDCA President Brian Heck who gave a short welcome to attendees following Peters' presentation.
