A Note to 2025 Annual Conference Exhibitors: YOU are Invited to ALL Programs

Impactful Presentations and Occasional Hijinx Await You;

Exhibitors Don't Want to Miss Annual Conference Sessions

As you prepare to join PDCA in San Antonio for the Annual Conference, Feb. 4-6, consider the following suggestions. Did you know?

An empty exhibit hall is a lonely exhibit hall: During programming at the 2025 PDCA Annual Conference, attendees, including exhibitors, are invited to the keynote presentation and all general and elective sessions. Come inside.

Informed exhibitors are effective exhibitors: When you share an experience with your targeted audience, you gain a mutual connection on a subject specific to the conference event you are both attending. Strengthen your connections.

Unique insights for foundation professionals await you: Since you're a pile driving professional, this conference offers you educational and professional development programs to enhance your career. Hear enriching business perspectives.

Ignore the myths: A paid conference registrant, regardless of your function, is your admission ticket to all programs. Exhibitors are encouraged to attend any and all sessions on the schedule. ALL attendees are welcome at ALL programs.

The Exhibit Hall is a featured attraction: In addition to presentations, receptions, and scheduled events, the Exhibit Hall is a big draw for conference-goers. PDCA builds the schedule with specified times for attendees to visit it. Your booth is a priority.

You are in good company: Every single conference attendee has bids to create, estimates to complete, virtual calls to join, emails to send, and even social media to check. But you came to San Antonio to network, learn, and grow, and those opportunities are available during conference programming. Be a part of it!

Oyster Roast Tradition Continues in South Carolina; Chapter Event Coverage Here

For the 19th consecutive year, the PDCA South Carolina Chapter is thanking the pile driving community throughout Charleston and the greater southeastern U.S. for helping make its annual Oyster Roast a successful opportunity to advocate and celebrate driven pile construction. On Friday evening, January 17th, more than 100 people from the industry, as well as their friends and families, descended on the yard at Palmetto Pile Driving, Inc. on the north side of the City of Charleston to network with colleagues and competitors, and reunite with friends and associates.

Winter weather rarely impacts the popular social event held each January, and the 2025 event was no exception. It was expectedly a little chilly, but there was no wind or precipitation, making it enjoyable for most attendees. Two bonfires and an indoor shop provided perfect relief for those who needed a quick warm up throughout the night. If you were unable to attend this year, watch PDCA publications and your inbox for announcements of future events from the Chapter.

The annual Oyster Roast from the PDCA South Carolina Chapter is an ideal opportunity for the pile driving industry to gather in a family-friendly environment, inspired by the unique culture of the Lowcountry. In addition to numerous bushels of fresh oysters steamed on site by Jamie Westendorf of Charleston Outdoor Catering, other foods such as pulled pork, hot dogs, chili, desserts, and beverages to suit everyone's thirst were available to attendees. A large list of sponsors make this annual, destination event possible.

The PDCA South Carolina Chapter thanks the following contributors to the 2025 Oyster Roast: S&ME, Gerdau, Koppers, Terracon, Essve Tech, Meever USA, Russell Marine LLC, Nucor Skyline, Junttan, Pile Drivers, Inc., Soil Consultants, CNT Foundations, ECS Southeast LLC, Mammoth Carbon, The Hose Company, Triad Metals and Piling, Service Steel Warehouse, Cape Romain Contractors, Palmetto Pile Driving, Inc., SJ Hamill Construction Corp., Consolidated Pipe and Supply, Parker Marine Contracting Corp., American Piledriving Equipment (APE), Equipment Corporation of America (ECA), International Construction Equipment (ICE), Beacon Transportation, Van-Smith Concrete, Wire Products, United Rentals, Carter Lumber, and JMT.

New Florida Chapter Forms; Gains PDCA Affiliation and Seeks Members

(L-R): Samantha See, Lina Garcia Martin, Dean Cacio, and John Hayes

During PDCA Board & Brews, the Jan. 8, 2025 networking reception at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort in Clearwater, FL, three pile driving industry professionals from Florida who attended announced their desire to re-establish a PDCA Florida Chapter. Together, they delivered a 'Letter of Intent' document which is a request of the PDCA Board of Directors to formalize an affiliation with their new group. The three event attendees, as well as a fourth individual who had a conflict, all signed the letter. PDCA chapters presently exist and operate as autonomous entities which gain support from PDCA through the terms of a formal affiliation.

The proposition from the four piling professionals seeking to form the Florida Chapter received a vote of the Board during their 2025 Strategic Planning meeting which was held over the two days following the reception. On Jan. 10th, the new PDCA Florida Chapter was born through a unanimous Board of Directors vote to affiliate.

The Chapter consists of its four organizing members; each holds an officer position in order to fulfill state incorporation requirements. We introduce you to the new Chapter leadership team:
  • President: Lina Garcia Martin, a BDM at Orion in Tampa
  • Vice President: Dean Cacio, a BDM at R.W. Harris Inc. - A Goettle Company in Clearwater
  • Secretary: Samantha See, a BDM at Apex Steel Pipe & Piling in Ft. Lauderdale
  • Treasurer: John Hayes, a Director at Equipment Corporation of America in Green Cove Springs
The new PDCA Florida Chapter is currently inviting pile driving professionals throughout the state to join the organization as active members. They are developing a plan to hold meetings and other events they expect to offer their members in 2025 and years beyond.

PDCA chapters play a critical role in growing the international organization. The Florida Chapter is the second one to re-establish in just three years, following the Texas Chapter's formation in 2022. PDCA hosts regional networking receptions in different parts of the country throughout each year, while delivering a message to attendees from the localities that the organization will be supportive of them if they seek to establish and operate a local chapter. Thank you to all current PDCA Chapter members, as well as those who attend PDCA regional networking receptions. The next event is coming on February 27th in Norfolk, VA.
