In case you missed it, PileDriver magazine announced the 2026 winners of the PDCA Project of the Year Awards program in the latest publication that circulated in digital format on August 3rd. Eight PDCA member companies won awards in the program's nine categories. Two winning projects involved Marine foundation installation, including construction of a two-mile long structural wall in Louisiana wetlands that is critical to preservation of railroad infrastructure and a novel collision protection system that protects bridge abutments over the Delaware River which has become a nationwide model for safety in active ship channels.
The Earth Retention category features two projects recognized for excellence; in one instance, a sheet pile vertical cut solved the problem of contaminates entering ground water systems in the Dallas-Forth Worth Metroplex. Then in Cleveland, driven sheet piles were used to stabilize a decades-long, severe erosion problem along the Cuyahoga River that threatened a nearby port.
In Kansas City, MO, the story about an Associate/Engineering Affiliate entry explains how a proprietary sheet pile solution enabled construction of a heavy duty port dock that provides a critical component for renewing the Missouri River's commerce capabilities.
Finally, an International project details the replacement and modernization of foundation elements at a major ship repair facility at Freeport, Bahamas, and expands its capacity to service cruise, cargo, and global vessels, well into the future.
