The 2026 Engineers Driven Pile Institute (EDPI) delivered two days of focused learning and professional growth, giving early- to mid-career engineers a deeper dive into driven pile foundation design and construction. Designed for those with 2-10 years of experience, the program filled an important gap often left by undergraduate curriculums, equipping attendees with practical tools they can immediately apply in the field.
Held April 21-22, EDPI featured a comprehensive agenda covering everything from geotechnical data requirements and foundation selection to wave equation analysis, pile testing and installation inspection. Brent Robinson, PhD, PE helped kick off the program, setting the tone for two days of in-depth instruction alongside industry experts Robert Thompson, PE, BC.GE and Mike Juneau, PE, MBA. Attendees earned 15 PDHs while exploring both theory and real-world application.
Beyond the classroom, EDPI continues to stand out for its ability to connect rising engineers with seasoned leaders in deep foundations, fostering both knowledge-sharing and professional networking. The PDCA educational program started in 2022 with a pilot program in Charleston, SC. Subsequent programs were held in 2023 in Baltimore, MD and 2024 in Salt Lake City, UT. Due to heavy PDCA programming in 2025, EDPI was not available, making this early 2026 opportunity available to the industry from Houston.
A special thank you goes to event sponsors International Construction Equipment, Kingdom Pipe & Steel, PVE USA and Valiant Steel & Equipment for helping make this impactful program possible.
