Tommy Haupt

Tommy has been an integral part of Independent Pipe for more than nine years, wearing multiple hats in both sales and operations before stepping into his current role overseeing plant operations and helping guide the company's strategic direction. His hands-on approach and commitment to smart, customer-focused solutions have been key to his success.

A PDCA member since 2020, Tommy also serves on the Board of Directors for the PDCA Pacific Coast Chapter. Beyond PDCA, he's been active with the National Association of Steel Pipe Distributors (NASPD) since 2016, completed the NASPD Leadership Development Program in 2023, and continues to give back as a member of the program committee.

Explained Tommy about his involvement in industry organizations, "It provides a very important opportunity to establish relationships with those who are going to be part of your career, and often your success. You get to know existing and future clients and competitors, and most importantly, many of those with whom you come into contact through industry organizations can teach you something. That alone helps you become the best you can be at what you do. I encourage everyone in any given industry to strongly consider active participation in your industry. I am excited to be part of the PDCA leadership and help make the organization the best industry asset it can be.

Tommy earned his B.S. in Plant Science from Fresno State and began his career in commercial agriculture before joining the family business. He now lives in Bakersfield with his wife and three children--and is always ready to roll up his sleeves to help the industry move forward.
