Volunteers are critical to the successes at PDCA. They constitute the membership on all seven standing committees which produce tangible products important to pile drivers such as The Driven Pile Academy, PileDriver magazine, and Toolbox Talks. Volunteers make up the organization's leadership structure. The 14 member Board of Directors meets regularly to make decisions for PDCA related to its finances, budget, programming, technical initiatives, and more. The Committees and Board rely on the PDCA staff to carry out the details that apply to their work product. Now, PDCA Chapters have a singular PDCA staff person to support their initiatives, which historically volunteers have exclusively carried out.
PDCA Chapters provide a variety of programming and events in their regional jurisdictions. Regular educational programs such as the Gulf Coast Chapter Engineers Tech Conference to the Northeast Chapter Professional Development Seminar, or the Pacific Coast Chapter Scholarship Award to the South Carolina Chapter Oyster Roast, or the Texas Chapter Facility Tours to the Florida Chapter Golf Outing, PDCA Chapters stay busy over the course of a year by providing quality, applicable programming to driven pile professionals in their localities.
Longtime PDCA Executive Assistant Marian Phillips, whom many of you know as your point-person for PDCA membership dues and accounts, has assumed the added role of Chapters Coordinator. In this capacity, Marian will support all six PDCA Chapters through event registration management, program marketing, sponsorship processing, financial reconciliations, monthly membership tracking, and light graphic design. She will also collaborate with Chapter volunteers on event logistics and on-site support.
"For years, PDCA volunteers have done amazing work recruiting members and organizing educational and networking events," said Phillips. "Thanks to their dedication, our Chapters have grown significantly. PDCA recognizes that volunteers must prioritize their professional responsibilities, which is why we have dedicated staff support. I am excited to reduce the administrative burden and handle the detailed work required to run a successful Chapter."

Ultimately, Ms. Phillips is the bridge between PDCA's home office staff and the leaders of the its six Chapters. She is committed to helping every Chapter deliver a professional and polished member experience.
