Call for Papers

The Pile Driving Contractors Association (PDCA) is pleased to announce the Call for Abstracts / Case Studies / Topic & Presentation suggestions for the upcoming Annual Design & Installation of Cost-Efficient Piles (DICEP) Conferences, PDCA Annual Conferences, or virtual webinars.

The DICEP Conference is PDCA's technical conference for engineers held toward the middle of September. The agenda format is typically 1.5 days with presentations ranging from 30 minutes to an hour in length.

The PDCA Annual International Conference & Expo is the member's conference and is held in early February. The conference is held over 2.5 days and typically includes a golf tournament, as well as a variety of topics to interest all member types.

Both conferences will consist of keynote presentations, case histories, and technical presentations addressing the conference themes and needs of the industry. Varied presentation lengths will be considered and will be determined based on presentation flow, content relevance, and PDH requirements.

Throughout the year PDCA webinars are held to highlight driven pile projects, as well as their value and cost savings. Webinar topic suggestions can be technical, case based, and/or promotional.

I
f you have an abstract / case study / paper / topic suggestion you wish to share with the Education Committee for consideration please be sure it summarizes, usually in one paragraph of 300 words or less, the major aspects of the entire presentation that should include:

1) Proposed Title (tentative or final)
2) Brief summary of presentation / Abstract information / Case study details
3) Minimum of two audience take-aways
4) Intended Audience: Contractors, Engineers, Estimators, Owners, Associates, Etc.

The Education Committee intentionally makes the process for submitting abstracts as simple as possible to allow for both technical and non-technical presenters to have an opportunity for submission.  Once the deadline for submittal(s) passes, the Education Committee reviews and selects those presentations that best represent the conference theme.  Non-selected abstracts are kept on file with the PDCA for a full year with potential for alternative use in publications, member website resources, and other PDCA materials.

*Submissions become eligible content for future PDCA publications, if the submitter desires, but this is not a requirement.
