South Carolina Chapter 3rd Quarter Dinner Meeting
When: 8/14/2025
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: Charleston, SC
INFORMATION & REGISTRATION
Join us for an evening of networking, association business, and an engineering presentation eligible for one-hour PDH. Our speaker, Rick Sadler with International Construction Equipment, will present Case Studies on Trench Screening during Vibratory Pile Driving. Vibratory pile driving in less-than-ideal soil conditions near historical or otherwise old, compromised structures can sometimes present surface ground vibration challenges, both perceived and real, no matter what construction method is being deployed. This prestation aims to educate on an innovative approach to mitigating ground vibrations during vibratory sheet pile installation in urban environments. Through three case studies in Springfield, MA, Allston, MA, and Keene, NH, testing demonstrates the effectiveness of trenches to mitigate surface level or annoyance vibration. The presentation will support that this method could be easily adapted and implemented to different site conditions for driving in urban construction and could reduce potential annoyance claims.
The meeting is open to all pile driving contractors, pile suppliers, pile equipment representatives, geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, owners, and anyone interested in learning about or promoting the use of driven pile foundations.
If already a member, we look forward to seeing you again. If not yet a member, come and learn how this organization can help you.
